As the climbers among you are aware, most of the significant peaks in the area have a small sealed container, most made of white PVC pipe, that contains pencils and a notebook or paper. They are usually tucked in an opening in the rocks or somewhere safe from weather, but are in plain sight at the summit. Those who have made it there can find and open the capsule, remove the contents, attest to their accomplishment and leave comments, some of which are interesting reading.

Cascadian Jeff Hagen collects the summit registers when they get full and makes arrangements to send up fresh ones.
